"It be a dragon Mr. Baggins!"
Thought you were going to have to wait until Friday
morning for the Eragon
trailer did you? Well, it looks like we have all been given a nice dose
of luck. One problem Fox has been having with the film is leaked video and
the fact that it is impossible to stop any video from constantly reappearing
on YouTube. So, when the Eragon trailer leaked earlier
today I immediately received a ton of links from a ton of readers pointing
out videos that had gone up and down over on YouTube or mirror sites.
Well, it looks like Fox has had enough and, instead of bringing in their
lawyers, has decided to release the feature trailer for Eragon
early. All in all, great decision.
So, what do we think?
Eragon Trailer
The trailer looks pretty damn cool, but in an old
school kind of way. I remember when I saw the first trailers for the Lord
of the Rings trilogy and I felt the same way about those then.
The only problem with Eragon is that Fox has to pull off
a living, breathing and, most importantly, believable CG dragon. How did
they do?
One sec, let me watch it again....
Hard to say how the dragon looks, but please be reminded that I am using
the amazingly real dragon from Goblet of Fire as my point
of reference.
Let me look again....
Ehh, the dragon looks a little below the Goblet standard,
but Fox still has time to work on this.
The only other issue I had with the trailer is some of the dialogue reminded
me a bit of Attack of the Clones, and we all know how that
worked out.

I guess I should also point out that Eragon has moved up
to the fourth highest anticipated film by CanMag readers.
Eragon comes to theatres on December 15th.
