Jackass: Number Two
You know when you do something so many times, it stops being funny, but then you keep doing it and it becomes funny again? That’s kind of what happens with the Valentine gag in Jackass: Number Two. The boys set up a heart shaped Valentine card, supposedly from a fan, on the hotel hallway wall. Behind it was a boxing glove, Wile E. Coyote ACME style. Every single person went to read the sign. Only the funniest takes are in the film.

They tell us different things when they’re waiting to come up to our rooms,” explained Wee Man. “And we’d be filming all day, and I just want to go to my room, and you’ll be like, ‘What’s this, what’s this?’ And then Bam’s sitting there laughing and so I think, ‘Ok, I’ll check it out, this is funny.’”
The actual whack looks worse than it was. “It was only [slaps his hand] that hard. It wasn’t hard at all.” Preston Lacy added, “That one was more scary than it was violent.” Wee Man concurred, “When you see it, and when it happens, when it did it to me, I just got knocked out the minute the thing comes at your face.”
Originally, the gag was to be even more elaborate. “That’s Knoxville’s bit, but Dimitry [Elyashkevich] spun it to have Mike Tyson on the other side of the wall, punching us,” said Lacy. “But they couldn’t get Tyson, so they went with the hydraulic thing.”
Jackass: Number Two opens on September 22, 2006.
