Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Poster Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix makes the cut.
Though I was hesitant, we here at CanMag decided it was time to remove both Superman Returns and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest from our Top Films in order to make way for new upcoming films. So, who made the updated cut?

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix of course! The movie page for this film was created back on August 12th and it has already earned itself a position in the Top Ten; a week or so earlier than we had predicted.

Top Ten Films

The top ten most viewed films on CanMag.Com on August 1st were (stats from same date):

Spider-Man 3 (495,849 views)
Superman Returns (457,215 views)
Transformers (270,357 views)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (227,124 views)
Ghost Rider (217,419 views)
DOA: Dead or Alive (135,372 views)
Eragon (132,903 views)
Indiana Jones 4 (96,670 views)
Alpha Dog (28,797 views)
The Departed (19,521 views)

We have been waiting for one film in particular to join the Top Ten thanks to its recent updates and excellent (leaked) promo trailer. Don't know of what I speak? Well, check out the promo trailer for 300 and then let's talk. The move up for this film has been a long time coming.

Though New Line is trying to rid themselves of Alpha Dog, it is hard to explain why considering the continued popularity of the film.

Spider-Man 3 (586,803 views)
Transformers (367,521 views)
Eragon (288,996 views)
Ghost Rider (239,106 views)
DOA: Dead or Alive(160,830 views)
Indiana Jones 4 (117,114 views)
300 (37,155 views)
Alpha Dog (35,223 views)
The Departed (27,462 views)
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (17,091 views)

Even though there were some not entirely happy with the feature trailer for Eragon, the film has still managed to slip into the #3 spot.

Thanks most in part to video journals and an impressive promo trailer -- that was leaked -- 300 has gone from not being listed to the #7 spot; a huge improvement that should help the film get extra attention.

Spider-Man 3 should have the #1 spot clinched for some time, but don't be surprised when both Transformers and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix begin to close in on it. Speaking of OotP, watch this film climb the ranks over the next two months now that it is listed in the Top Ten. Goblet of Fire had the #1 spot clinched before its release and we already expect this film to get close or do the same.

That's the updated top 10! Agree or disagree with the most popular* films on CanMag.Com? Let us know!

Stay tuned for updates.

*popularity is judged by how many times each movie page has been opened.
