Rotten School
Go ahead and chalk it up -- another book has been picked up for adaptation. It would seem that studios are beginning to concentrate on children's books. Now, I don't know if they would exactly call How to Eat Fried Worms a success, but it must have been enough to keep the trend going.
Fox to Adapt Stine's Rotten School
According to Variety,
Twentieth Century Fox has picked up film rights to the R.L. Stine children's book series The Rotten School.
Stine is known for children thrillers such as Goosebumps, Fear Street and The Nightmare Hour.
The Rotten series takes the other route and work strictly as comedy for the younger ages.
Series centers on the zany boarding school adventures of Bernie Bridges as he schemes against his teachers and rival students.
HarperCollins bowed the series last year with The Big Blueberry Barf-Off!; the eighth title, The Teacher From Heck, was recently released, and a ninth, Party Poopers, is due out in November.
