Ice Cube For Untitled New Line Comedy

According to Variety, New Line has picked up a comedic pitch to be used as a starring vehicle for Ice Cube. The script will be penned by Tracy Underwood.

Blumhouse's Jason Blum and Cube Vision's Matt Alvarez will produce.

Ice Cube, who has been trying the daddy and family roles recently, will play a social climber whose aspirations are threatened by a youth who shows up and calls him daddy.

Though Cube's last comedy, Are We There Yet?, wasn't up to par with the first two Friday films -- the third film was a disaster -- he will also still move forward with a sequel titled Are We Done Yet?

If Ice Cube sticks close to these family-based roles, in time we may even see him team up with Vin Diesel. Maybe Cube will play the 'daddy' and Vin Diesel will be the nanny. Just think of the possibilities. (mind the sarcasm)

Stay tuned for updates.
