Pulitzer Prize-winner David Auburn has got himself a new script and a camera, but now what he needs is a cast.
Weaver, Bosworth in Negotiations For The Girl in the Park
According to Variety,
David Auburn is looking to make his directorial debut on The Girl in the Park with the help of Sigourney Weaver and Kate Bosworth; both are currently in negotiations.
Auburn wrote the scripts for both Proof and The Lake House. Furst Films partners Sean and Bryan Furst will produce the film.
The Girl in the Park is about a woman still traumatized by the disappearance of her 3-year-old daughter 15 years ago. When she meets a troubled young woman, her pain resurfaces along with the hope that the woman may be her missing child.
Though it is not stated, we should assume that Sigourney Weaver will play the mother and Bosworth the aged missing child. Unless they wanted to try it the other way around; this would be pretty weird.
Bosworth was last seen as Clark Kent's love interest, Lois Lane, in Bryan Singer's Superman Returns.
Weaver next stars in another upcoming Capote biopic titled Infamous for Warner Independent and will follow that with The TV Set for ThinkFilm. She recently wrapped Vantage Point for Columbia Pictures.
