For those of us who have read each and every one
of the Harry Potter novels know that the Weasley family doesn't
get the exact coverage they deserve in the films. Each character in the
family serves a purpose and each character brings with it tons of emotion
to the Potter story. Unfortunately for those who are counting on only the
films to deliver the story of Harry Potter, they will miss out on most of
the Weasley additions.
(The scene in OotP when Peeves salutes the Weasley twins almost
made me spit out my drink in laughter.)
Julie 'Weasley' Walters Talks Harry Potter and the Order of the
Phoenix
The good people over at JewReview
have recently caught up with Julie Walters and got the actress to discuss
a few details on OotP. Among the details mentioned she
does confirm that the Weasley parents will be much more involved for this
fifth installment.
She’s currently done shooting the film, but Rupert, Daniel Radcliffe,
Emma Watson, and the rest of the cast are still in production in London
– “Toiling away” as she put it. But just like the book,
Ron Weasley’s parents are much more involved in the film. “Oh
yeah, Christmas; we have a very good Christmas,” she said. “The
sets are fantastic; Mark (Williams), who plays Mr. Weasley, said they made
his hair stand up on the back of his neck when he walked into one of the
rooms. They’re just so beautiful, they’re amazing.”
And working with new Potter director,
David Yates, has been fabulous. She mentioned David brings a new style and
feel to the set compared to Chris Columbus and Alfonso Cuaron.
Many fans have been hoping for the return of Alfonso
Cuaron, but with only two installments to go that now looks pretty unlikely.
