Though production on The Bourne Ultimatum has already begin, the project still needs its villain. Under a time crunch, Universal Pictures has sent out an offer.
Bernal Offered Nemesis for The Bourne Ultimatum
According to THR, Universal Pictures is under the clock to find the nemesis for the latest installment in the Jason Bourne franchise, The Bourne Ultimatum. The studio has recently sent an offer out to Gael Garcia Bernal, the Mexican actor who had a threesome in Y Tu Mama Tambien and trouble sleeping in the recent release of Michel Gondry's The Science of Sleep.
Matt Damon is back as Bourne, and Joan Allen and Julia Stiles are back as well. One of the new faces on set is actor David Strathairn.
The Bourne Ultimatum centers on assassin Bourne uncovering mysteries of his past, which puts him in the cross-hairs of a superkiller.
Returning director, Paul Greengrass, will direct off a script by Tony Gilroy, Tom Stoppard and Paul Attanasio.
Though it would seem awkward for a film to enter production without such a central character, the same thing was done for Casino Royale last year; and so far that has turned out just fine. Columbia Pictures not only started the latest Bond installment without a villain, but without a lead Bond girl as well; a role Eva Green eventually picked up.
