It is good to see Spanish actor Jordi Molla picking up more films. I don't know if it is the fact that one could easily remember each appearance Molla has had (domestically), but his characters are so damn memorable. Creepy, sure, but he still has a strong on-screen presence -- especially when acting high out of his mind.
He first showed up as the cocaine-selling partner to Johnny Depp in Blow and then returned as the creepy Hector Juan Carlos 'Johnny' Tapia, but debonair, drug trafficer in Bad Boys II. He ends up getting blown to bits by mines by the end; yes, Michael Bay went very over the top in this film.
Seriously, this guy was like the Spanish Scarface, but without the mountains of cocaine.
Molla, Grandinetti for Epoxy
According to Variety, Jordi Molla and Dario Grandinetti have been picked up to star in the psychological thriller Epoxy.
Cecilia Roth has also joined the cast.
The directorial debut of Ricardo Akershtein, Epoxy tells the story of a thesping duel between Grandinetti, who plays a detective investigating the disappearance of a woman, and Molla, who plays the prime suspect, a man with a multiple personality disorder.
Epoxy is scheduled to shoot in Spain and Brazil early next year. The film will be produced by Josep Amoros, Bonita partner Emmanuelle Stumpler and Moonshot's Roberto D'Avila.
Dario Grandinetti can be seen in Talk to Her and The Dark Side of the Heart.
