Amber Tamblyn for Blackout

According to THR, Amber Tamblyn has signed on to star in the indie thriller Blackout.

The film will be directed by Rigoberto Castaneda off a script by scribes Ed Dougherty and Morabito.

Blackout tells the story of three people who are trapped in a hospital elevator for almost 24 hours as what at first seems like an inconvenience turns into a nightmare.

Tamblyn will play a young woman who is trying to get to her grandmother in the hospital who is moments away from death.

Tambly joines Aidan Gillen, who plays a doctor who happens to be a psychopathic killer, and Armie Hammer, playing a teen who wants to run away with his girlfriend.

Tamblyn was last seen in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and will appear with Sarah Michelle Gellar in The Grudge 2.

Production on Blackout begins next month in Spain.

Stay tuned for updates.
