James Cameron
James Cameron has yet to cure his directing addiction of the water. After completing Titanic the director has yet to return to feature films and, keeping to form, he will stick close to the sea.
Cameron Writes, Johnstone Directs Sanctum
According to Variety, Rogue Pictures has made a pact with James Cameron to co-write and produce James Cameron's Sanctum, a live action drama to be shot next spring in HD 3-D.
Gary Johnstone will direct.
Sanctum tells the story of a deep-sea diving team headed by a father and son. When the team heads to uncharted depths, a life-threatening crisis occurs. Kind of like the Abyss, but without the aliens or underwater habitat.
Despite taking place under water, being in high definition and 3-D, the film has a surprisingly low budget set at $20 million.
Cameron will be preparing his next 3-D film, Avatar, while working on Sanctum.
Rogue Pictures has been working overtime recently to create pacts with names such as Cameron, Wes Craven and even Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes.
Stay tuned for updates.
