Hounsou has been a hit on television recently. HBO has been playing The
Island by the hour, Amistad has popped up on a
few channels and Gladiator was getting a solid run only
last month. "The Gods favor you."
Being the popular guy, Djimon Hounsou has recently been picked up for a
slightly different genre.

Though Djimon Hounsou has proved himself to be great in action/adventure
genre, the actor has recently been pulled into an urban drama.
According to Variety,
Hounsou will star in The Trunk, directed by Sylvain White.
Also cast in the pic are Brian White, Boris Kodjoe and Thomas Krestchmann.
Pic, written by Joseph A. Elmore Jr., is the story
of an inner-city musical prodigy on the verge of breaking out of his harsh
existence who discovers that some of his closest friends will do anything
to keep him down.
The Trunk is expected to begin shooting later this year
in San Francisco.
Djimon Hounsou can be seen in the upcoming actioner The
Blood Diamond opposite Leonardi DiCaprio.
