The Prestige
With the release of The
Prestige only two days out, Touchstone Pictures have put on their game
faces and released five new clips plus a new TV spot for the film.
The Prestige Clips
From the time that they first met as young magicians
on the rise, Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Christian Bale)
were competitors. However, their friendly competition evolves into a bitter
rivalry making them fierce enemies-for-life and consequently jeopardizing
the lives of everyone around them. Full of twists and turns, The
Prestige is set against the backdrop of turn-of-the-century London,
the exceptional cast includes two-time Oscar winner Michael Caine, Scarlett
Johansson and David Bowie.
Each new clip for The Prestige is well done and it would
seem that Christopher Nolan has every scene carefully drawn out. Jackman
and Bale look great, Caine's character makes it happen, and, though Johansson
is still hard to say, at least we are guaranteed some eye candy. It is also
nice to see Andy Serkis out of the motion-capture suit and back in front
of the screen.
Jackman recently appeared on Leno this week to promote The Prestige
and he has already warned that there will be a huge surprise twist by the film's
end. Jackman admitted that this twist is what originally got him interested in the project. I guess that is why the TV spots warn us to see the film before the
secret gets out.
