Warner Independent Pictures
has released the first trailer for their upcoming drama The
Painted Veil and, though I don't know how far I can get into
the story without at least a little bit of action pick-me-up, the film definitely
has its perks.
The Painted Veil Trailer
The Painted Veil is a love story
set in the 1920s about a young English couple (a doctor and a society girl)
who marry hastily, relocate to Hong Kong where they betray each other easily,
and find an unexpected chance at redemption and happiness while on a deadly
journey into the heart of ancient China. Based on the novel by W. Somerset
Maugham.
The trailer kicks off by showing a small, yet strong, cast that includes
Naomi Watts, Edward Norton, Toby Jones and Liev Schreiber. It then adds
even more flavor by showing off the locations in which the film takes place
including a couple nice little cuts of Naomi about to have -- in the words
of Borat -- sexytime; I like!
As a finishing touch, the trailer uses a track from Hans Zimmer's score
of The Last Samurai; and it fits perfectly.
