Near the end of last
week Warner Bros scattered a barrage of new movie stills for their upcoming
film 300 across
the net. Though there was a slight added weight, they are now delivering
the entire set.
Movie Stills: 300
Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller,
300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which
King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against
Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor
and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy,
drawing a line in the sand for democracy. The film brings Miller’s
(Sin City) acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with
virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic
tale.
As expected, the movie stills are just as rocking as the trailer; so good
that some could be called screenshots.
The wolf begins to circle the boy. Claws of black steel, fur as dark as night, eyes glowing red…jewels from the pit of Hell itself.
As distant battle horns sound off, thousands of Persians arrows race through the golden sky towards the Spartans.
King Leonaidas (Gerard Butler) looks through the remains of a devastated Greek village, scanning the details of the destruction.
As the Spartan phalanx advances, the rear columns of attacking Persians begin to fold and fall away, over the high cliff’s edge and into the sea below.
The second day of battle begins. Silhouetted forms, whips crack, barbarians howl.
Like what you see? Good, we got six more coming
soon!
300 opens to theatres on March 9th, 2007.
