The Prestige
Touchstone Pictures is giving us our final reminder that the thriller starring Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Scarlett Johansson, Michael Caine, David Bowie and Andy Serkis is out in theatres today. Can't think of what it is I speak of? Come on, The
Prestige!
The film has been getting some positive reviews, so no reminder there, but this extended clip should help further spark your memory.
The Prestige Clip- The Lighthouse
Touchstone Pictures has released a new clip for The Prestige titled "The Lightfield." If you have been paying attention to all stills to come out of this film then you already have a good idea of where this clip is going. If not...
It turns out that being a magician way back when has its perks. It is easy to fool your audience with technology alone. Take electricity for example. Though used during this period, its more advanced uses could be molded into a magical act; or what Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) calls real magic. The so-called Lightfield is one such example of this 'real magic.'
This clip reminds me a lot of The Illusionist. Sure, The Prestige likes the blue hue just as much as the brown, but both films have a story that play upon a naive audience. But which audience is it that I speak of? The one shown in the movie or you?
