Cobalt 60
In our last article we mentioned that adaptations of fantasies were the hottest thing since sliced bread. Well, the genre may have some competition from comic book adaptations but, since comic book's and graphic novels are pretty fantastical, we still have to give reigning champion to fantasy.
And speaking of fantasy and comic books, Zack Snyder continues to impress and build up his to-do list thanks to Cobalt 60.
Zack Snyder to Direct Cobalt 60
According to THR, Universal Pictures has picked up the rights to cult comic book Cobalt 60, with Zack Snyder attached to direct the adaptation
Zack Snyder is currently finished up the adaptation of the Frank Miller graphic novel, 300, and has already been picked up by Warner Bros to begin working on the long gestated adaptation of The Watchmen.
Not bad for a young director just coming out of the gates.
Taking place in a postapocalyptic world inhabited by mutants and fantastical creatures, the story follows the masked hero Cobalt 60, who embarks on a quest to avenge his parents, who were murdered by the evil Strontium 90.
Cobalt 60 was created by artist Vaughn Bode back in 1968 and was revived by his son, Mark, during the 1980s. The comic book features trippy art and tons of violence.
