Roman Polanski
Didn't see this one coming. Papabear Roman Polanski is planning on making a return in front of a Hollywood camera with, wait for it, Rush Hour 3?
Roman Polanski for Rush Hour 3
According to Variety,
Roman Polanski is coming back to Hollywood. Though the director occasionally stepped in front of the camera in European films such as The Revenge, Rush Hour 3 is his first Hollywood film since his cameo in Chinatown. Welcome back to thesphood!
Polanski's been cast as a French police officer who harasses Tucker and Chan's characters in several scenes while the stars battle a wing of a Chinese organized-crime family.
Director Brett Ratner told Daily Variety that he persuaded Polanski to appear after a chance encounter while in pre-production in Paris.
It turns out that Ratner is a Polanski super-fan:
"Roman is my favorite director and my favorite actor, so I asked Jeff Nathanson to write him into the movie."
Roman Polanski recently won an Oscar for The Pianist and was last behind the camera with Oliver Twist.
