If our prediction, and that of many others, is correct, then JK Rowling must be closing in on a deadline for the title of Book 7 for Harry Potter. That is, if the prediction is correct.
The most popular guess (at the moment) for the release of Harry Potter 7 is 7-7-07. A great date as the numbers fit, the release would boost attention around the theatrical opening of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and it is a perfect 10 days before my birthday. How does the latter matter? Well, not to you maybe.
Anywho, JK Rowling recently updated her official site with news that she has come up with a third title option for the seventh Harry Potter installment.
Third Harry Potter Book VII Title Exists
Here is the statement from JK Rowling on the final Potter installment:
I've now got a third title. I've been thinking back, and I know that I've had more titles than this for a couple of the previous books, so I'm not too worried by this. Title three currently ahead by a short nose, or perhaps that should be a vowel and two consonants.
I've just had a great writing week. There are few feelings more joyous than reading back over the week's work and thinking 'that's not bad at all', as opposed to the all-too-frequent, 'it's rubbish, I've wasted a week and I'll have to re-write the lot.' And if you think that's an exaggeration or false modesty, you are very, very wrong. It's perfectly possible to put in eight hour days and have nothing to show for them but a single idea that, if reworked completely, might be passable.
One of the latest Potter titles to float through my email box (myspace actually) was Harry Potter and the Forest of Shadows. If not that, Harry Potter and the Fortress of Shadows.
Again, all speculative at this point.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix opens to theatres on July 13th, 2007.
