Everybody is getting into CG animated films nowadays and with surprise hits like Weinstein's Hoodwinked it is hard to blame them. One such studio that recently jumped on the boat is Lionsgate. Though we expected them to deliver a film filled with gore, death and the paranormal, the studio's first trailer looks like a mix between Hoodwinked and Shrek.
Not too shabby.
Happily N'Ever After Trailer
Inspired by the most beloved of fables, Happily N’Ever After is an animated satirical retelling of the classic story of Cinderella.
Once upon a time in Fairy Tale Land, the age-old balance between good and evil has been thrown out of whack. Frieda, Cinderella’s power-mad stepmother, has formed an unholy alliance of evil to take on the good guys. With her own fairy tale spinning wildly out of control, Cinderella (a/k/a Ella) is forced to shed her damsel-in-distress trappings in order to seize control of her own destiny and lead the resistance without her Prince Charming.
In a world of happy endings gone wrong, the race for control of the kingdom is on, with the fate of the venerable storyline 'Happily N'Ever After' hanging in the balance.
Happy N'Ever After

Bolger and written by Robert Moreland. The film was produced by John H. Williams (Oscar®-winning Shrek), BAF Berlin Animation Film and BFC Berliner Film Companie, co-executive produced by Ralph Kamp and Louise Goodsill of Odyssey Entertainment, and executive produced by Rainer Soehnlein, CEO of BFC Berliner Film Companie. Music composed by Paul Buckley.
The trailer for Happily N'Ever After features CG animation that is far behind that of Shrek 2, but a couple leagues above Hoodwinked. The story, which is very Hoodwinked meets Shrek, looks like it could deliver as long as the film features enough quips and paradies.
