Smokin' Aces Ryan Reynolds comes loaded in Smokin' Aces

Universal Pictures has got two good reasons on why they'd want to get their upcoming balls to the wall film, Smokin' Aces, out of the March window. One, that window is just too hot. With films like 300, Meet the Robinsons and Hot Fuzz, the weekends are already filling up with hot releases. (There is still one weekend though)

Second, the recent trailer release for the film has created a little bit of buzz. Now, we aren't talking Snakes on a Plane buzz or anything like that, but buzz that remains impressed with the carnage and cast shown.

There are probably a ton of other reasons to push the film out of March but, for the sake of argument, let's stick with the two.

Besides, we all win anyway.

Smokin' Aces Pushed Forward

Universal Pictures has just alerted us that they have pulled Smokin' Aces out of its March 2nd slot -- a slot that would of ran into both Hot Fuzz and 300 the following week -- and pushed it forward to January 26th.

If you have yet to see any of the trailers for Smokin' Aces (do it!), then check out the early trailer at MyPartyPost and the official version at Yahoo! Movies.

Mamma like?

Smokin' Aces opens on March 2nd, 2007.
