Shoot 'Em Up Screened

Shoot 'Em Up Shoot 'Em Up

Though in low-resolution, the promo reel for Shoot 'Em Up looked pretty damn impressive. Almost as good as the film's early animatics; almost as good.

Seeing that everything early on the film was on the up, it should come as no surprise that the screening report on the film would also be positive. But can a free-for-all shooter really kick ass? So many have tried in the past half-decade and just about all have missed. Can Shoot 'Em Up, with the help of names like Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti and Monica Bellucci, change the tide?

Screening Report: Shoot 'Em Up

The good people over at AICN have gotten their hands on quite a few screening reports for Shoot 'Em Up and, unlike the earliest report that bashed the film oh so long ago, all completely dig it.

I just got out of a sick movie, I mean sick good. As Paul Giamatti who stars as the comb over villain says “this is twisted”

The action is out of control, seriously, Clive Owen saves a baby who’s being born by shooting the Mother’s umbilical chord- holy shit!

Then he and Monica Belluci have sex during a shoot out. Clive shoots out the window of a BMW and propels himself through the window of a truck killing every bad guy inside then says “That’s what you get for wearing your seat belt”.

There’s a supercool section where Clive strings together a bunch of guns and puppets them through a surveillance camera – the body count is beyond anything you’ve seen.

I loved the film I really did- it was short and sweet and to the point and the point as to shoot a lot of shit.

There are quite a few reviews that read just like this. Check out all the praise on Shoot 'Em Up over at AICN.

Shoot 'Em Up comes to theatres some time in 2007.
