Got to hand it to who ever the casting agent was on this one, as the person was able to get a pretty impressive and surprisingly busy cast to jump aboard The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond.

Lohan, Evans, Burstyn, Strathairn, Ann-Margret for The Loss of Teardrop Diamond

The long-forgotten Tennessee Williams screenplay, The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond, has finally found life in Lindsay Lohan, Chris Evans, Ellen Burstyn, David Strathairn and Ann-Margret. All of whom have been attached to star.

Diamond tells the story of Fisher Willow (Lohan), the disliked 1920s Memphis debutante daughter of a plantation owner with a distaste for narrow-minded people and a penchant for shocking and insulting those around her.

After returning from studies overseas, Fisher falls in love with Jimmy (Evans), the down-and-out son of an alcoholic father (Strathairn) and an insane mother who works at a store on her family's plantation. She tries to pass him off as an upper-class suitor to appease the spinster aunt (Ann-Margret) who controls her family's fortune, but when she loses a diamond, it places their tenuous relationship in further jeopardy.

Ellen Burstyn has been cast to play Fisher's mother.

Lohan, who next stars in The Weinstein Co.'s Bobby, has recently been attached to Speechless and The Best Time of Our Lives.

Chris Evans, who boosted his career with a hilarious role in Not Another Teen Movie, is currently on set of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Stay tuned for updates.
