We ain't no fools. Though Fox has been promising the first 'trailer' for the upcoming animated film The Simpsons Movie all over the radio this weekend, what we have got here looks more like a second teaser than a feature trailer.
But hey, it makes us laugh, so we will let it slide.
The Simpsons Movie Trailer
A teaser trailer really does only have one purpose: remind moviegoers of the upcoming release of a highly anticipated film that is not exactly 'upcoming'. The Simpsons Movie is not due out until mid-summer, 2007, and we already have two teaser trailers for the film. Sorry, a teaser and a trailer. I guess it is hard for me to call anything a trailer without it having at least some real footage from the actual film.

Whatever you want to call it, the latest 'trailer' for The Simpsons Movie does accomplish the most important task: it makes us laugh -- rock and a hard place was genius -- while also reminding us that a movie is coming. So, in that sense, job well done.
You also have to give some bonus kudos for the play on CG animated films.
