Nicolas Cage
Nicolas Cage has grown a taste for comics... and possibly spicy food. Ready to wrap Ghost Rider, a new starring vehicle is being developed that will take the actor right into Indian culture.
Nicolas Cage for The Sadhu
Virgin Comics is adapting The Sadhu for the bigscreen and plan to have the project to serve as a starring vehicle for Nicolas Cage. It just so happens that Cage has a taste for curry and has agreed to come aboard.
Sounding a bit too similar to The Last Samurai, The Sadhu will feature Cage as James Jenson, a soldier who travels to India during colonial times and becomes a spiritual warrior.
"The Sadhu is a bold, visual epic that taps into one of India's most heralded spiritual traditions," Devarajan said.
What, and rival samurai clans isn't cool?
Besides Sadhu, Cage is taking his love for comics to the next level by, no, not wrapping each page in a protective plastic, but by helping Virgin Comics to publish Enigma, a voodoo-laced thriller Cage hatched with his 15-year-old son, Weston. Thinking ahead and remaining an actor at heart, Cage hopes for this story to become a potential feature as well.
New Orleans has recently become the top location to have a crime story and Enigma is no different. Well, a little different, considering that this story takes place long before Katrina was even a name. Story tells of a detective who discovers recent killings are directly related to the events of a fiery rebellion on a Southern plantation during the Confederacy.
The comic will be published as a five-part monthly series beginning in March.
Stay tuned for updates.
