Rhona Mitra
Neil Marshall became a cult director overnight thanks to a formula that has been used in horror films since the creation of celluloid -- beautiful women in extreme, horrific situations.
Taking that formula -- which he used recently in The Descent I might add -- to the next level, Marshall plans to serve up a futuristic thriller with the beautiful Rhona Mitra playing lead character.
Rhona Mitra for Doomsday
Rogue Pictures has picked up actress Rhona Mitra to star in Marshall's upcoming futuristic action thriller Doomsday.
His follow-up to The Descent, Doomsday is set three decades after a lethal virus tore through a major country, leading to the country's walling off. When the virus, known as the Reaper, resurfaces in another country, an elite group is dispatched to the infected country to find a cure. There, they end up shut off from the rest of the world and must battle through a landscape that has become a waking nightmare. Mitra plays the leader of the elite group.
Though Mitra has become known for roles in television shows such as Boston Legal and The Practice, the actress will be coming out with a slew of films including the horror Skinwalkers, New Line's Jim Carrey thriller The Number 23, and Antoine Fuqua's Shooter opposite Mark Wahlberg.
