Thanks to the arrival of the teaser trailer for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix due online tomorrow, all muggles seem to do nowadays is talk Harry Potter. And, not wanting to break tradition, here are a couple new updates right off the front page of the Daily Prophet.
Potter Updates
First up is news that the official site for OotP has gone live. The site features your standard mix of options including the official synopsis, a gallery, the recently released poster, and an option to go back to the official Warner Bros page for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
When watching the teaser trailer for Order of the Phoenix it was impossible to deny that the film looked more related to Prisoner of Azkaban than Goblet of Fire; which is a good thing. Don't get me wrong, Goblet was great; it was just missing some of the refined aspects that Azkaban had thanks to its director, Alfonso Cuaron. Speaking of the director, is there a chance he may come back?
Though previous Potter directors admit that filming a Harry Potter movie is exhausting, just about all of them are looking to return before the franchise closes out.
Christopher Columbus has been mentioned inside closed doors at Warner Bros on a few occasions and now Alfonso Cuaron has admitted that he'd also like to come back.
Talking with RT during a press conference for Children of Men, Cuaron briefly touches upon the magical franchise and how he wouldn't mind making a return on one of the last two films.
"I would love to have the opportunity of revisiting the 'Harry Potter' universe," he said. "It's an amazing experience to do those films because while you’re doing those films, you're surrounded by this amazing beneficial energy."
The books have only gotten darker since Prisoner of Azkaban, so either of the remaining Potter films should be right up the director's Diagon Alley.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix opens to theatres on July 13th, 2007.
