Eva Green
Though Casino Royale has barely given us an opening weekend, it would seem that Columbia Pictures is farther along with the 22nd Bond installment than originally thought. Though choice of villain is usually hinted or announced in pre-production, Eva Green knows just enough about Bond to give some top-secret information.
Eva Green Hints on Next Bond Villain
Entertainment Weekly recently interviewed the cast of Casino Royale including the new Bond girl, Eva Green. After discussing her amusement with the tabloids while the film was in production, Green lets slip a detail that will come into play in Bond 22.
How did you manage to keep straight in your own mind Vesper's shifting motivations and loyalties?
I think it's too confusing. But they're going to do a second [movie] where you'll understand what's going on in her mind. It was really hard, and Barbara Broccoli helped me understand. You would think, wait a minute, she had an Algerian boyfriend, and she's been sent on this mission, and then she begins to feel guilty. She's in love with Bond. It's a deep love. The Algerian boyfriend was something light, an affair. So there's an internal conflict. The plan is, the Algerian boyfriend is going to be the baddie in the second Bond, and we'll understand [better]. But you don't have to think about it too much.
The boyfriend a baddie in the next Bond? I thought he was just a captured pussy used as leverage against Vesper?
Sounds interesting, but Columbia Pictures has only 'holiday weekend' on their minds right now. Casino Royale should kill and earn its double-o at the box office.
