It would probably be too much to wish for that we'd get some juicy details about Shrek the Third from Princess Fiona herself, Cameron Diaz. At least she seemed enthusiastic about the sequel.

"It’s going," she said. "It’s working. It’s happening. It’s about to land in your guy’s laps I’m sure."
Since Shrek 2 showed significant character growth, one would suspect The Third will take it to the next level. Diaz indicates that would be a safe bet. "I think that certain characters they have down like Shrek and Fiona. Every time, I think they really strive to make a good statement. A solid, informed, good statement that’s uplifting and I think the characters are all really rounded in this film."
Then Diaz kissed up to her boss to ensure she'd continue getting paid millions for Shrek 4 and 5. "I’m just thankful for someone like Jeffery Katzenberg who has this spirit and the drive to bring those movies forward and dedicate themselves to all of the people who work on it to bring it forward and bring it into the world. I think it’s amazing."
Shrek the Third opens to theatres on May 18th, 2007.
