See No Evil
When I saw the opening credits with the “WWE Entertainment” and Kane as the lead actor, I must admit I was a little suspect. Although the plot is thinner than Nicole Richie’s arm, I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this movie for what it was, a gory horror movie. It’s your run of the mill horror movie with stupid teens (8 of them), bad decision making (all of them) and a ton of gruesome scenes. One of the goriest movies I have ever seen and definitely the goriest movie I’ve seen this year (even on par with the last 40 minutes of Hostel). So for where it lacks in realistic terror, it makes up for in sickening you.
DVD Review: See No Evil
Kane didn’t have to do much in the way of acting per se, but he did what he did and he was a bit disturbing. At times the movie takes itself a little too seriously with the back stories and you just want to say, “Look, this isn’t The Shining just get on with the killing.” A few unsuspected turns kept you on your toes and watching a human being rip someone’s eye out with his index finger never seems to lose its touch with the psyche.
Don’t expect any Oscar nominations out of this one, but just take it for what it is. It’s produced by Vince McMahon for Gods sake. You’ll question the plot, you’ll scream “Holy $@&#!” a few times, you’ll turn your head in disgust and then you’ll go on with your day. Is there anything else you would expect with a move starring Kane?
