Universal Pictures has picked up Martin Lawrence to star in the upcoming comedy The Better Man to be directed by Malcolm Lee.
Scott Stuber and Mary Parent will produce.
In The Better Man, Lawrence will play a single father who has just made it big as an outrageous syndicated talkshow host. When he returns home to attend the 50th anniversary of his parents with his famous fiancee, he begins to question his path in life.
Lawrence has recently wrapped Wild Hogs with Tim Allen and John Travolta.
The Better Man is scheduled to begin filming in March.
