The Machinist director Brad Anderson has been looking for a cast for his next pic, Trans-Siberian, and has found all the talent he needed in a single bundle.
Harrelson, Morton, Mara, Noriega, Kingsley and Kretschmann for Trans-Siberian
After Anderson wrote the script of Trans-Siberian with Will Conroy, the next step was getting a cast. Anderson was able to convince Christian Bale to drop sixty for Machinist so getting other talented players for Trans was not an issue. Jumping on board the project are Woody Harrelson, Samantha Morton, Kate Mara, Eduardo Noriega, Ben Kingsley and Thomas Kretschmann.
Trans-Siberian tells the story of an American couple (Harrelson and Morton) traveling on the Trans-Siberian Railway from China to Moscow. When they meet another couple (Mara and Noriega), the result is a train ride full of deception and murder. Kingsley and Kretschmann will play Russian police officers pursuing the couples.
Trans-Siberian will begin filming on December 11th in Beijing, Russia and Lithuania.
Filmax Entertainment and Universum Film will co-produce the film with a $15 million budget.
