Columbia Pictures and Spyglass Entertainment are working with Joe Carnahan to direct a remake of Bunny Lake is Missing and, if all goes to plan, the film will also become a starring vehicle for Reese Witherspoon.
Reese Witherspoon For Bunny Lake is Missing
Spyglass Entertainment will finance Bunny Lake is Missing while Columbia Pictures will handle the duty of domestic distribution.
Based on the film of the same title released back in 1965, Bunny Lake is Missing surrounds the events that occur after a woman reports that her daughter Bunny Lake has gone missing. When police find no evidence that she even existed, they being to question the woman's sanity. So, kind of like Flightplan but with a lake.
Scribe Doug Wright is currently working on a rewrite of the script with Carnahan.
Carnahan has quite a few projects coming our way including the recently-wrapped Smokin' Aces. The director is hoping to finish Bunny Lakes is Missing before he moves on to direct George Clooney in White Jazz.
Reese Witherspoon is currently starring with Jake Gyllenhaal and Meryl Streep in Rendition.
