After delivering music with Outkast, Andre Benjamin,
aka Andre 3000, went on to make us laugh in Be Cool; the
tea-sipping scene was classic. Sticking to the comedic genre, Benjamin has
jumped aboard Semi-Pro with Will Ferrell.
Andre Benjamin For Semi-Pro
New Line Cinema has picked up Andre Benjamin to join the cast of Semi-Pro.
Singer-turned-actor will be joining Will Ferrell and Woody Harrelson.
Written by Scot Armstrong, Semi-Pro is set in the world
of the American Basketball Assn. and follows Jackie Moon (Ferrell), the
owner-coach-player of the fictional Flint Michigan Tropics. Moon must lead
his team on a desperate attempt to make it to the big leagues.
Benjamin has been picked up to play a self-styled ladies' man who is the
best player on the team. A role that should be right up the old 3000 alley.
Benjamin has been keeping busy of late and is currently
shooting Stuart Townsend's Battle in Seattle. He is also
one of the co-creators of Cartoon Network's Class of 3000. You
can also hear Andre Benjamin in the upcoming live-action adaptation of Charlotte's
Web.
