Eragon
You are going to feel a bit of my hostility here,
but we have recently been alerted to three new behind-the-scenes clips that
may just show why the hell Fox thought that making Eragon
PG was a good idea. Yes, we are still feeling the effects of that announcement
and, yes, it still sucks.
BTS Clips: Eragon
The first BTS clip, "The World with Dragons",
explains to us why dragons are cool. Well, duh. We also get one of our first
introductions to Christopher Paolini, who easily shows (in many ways) why
he digs dragons.
Moving on, we jump into "Creating Alagaesia", which is actually
pretty damn cool. If you have seen the trailers and clips for Eragon,
you have seen the accomplishments by ILM and WETA in getting Edward Speleers
to look like he is really riding a dragon. This BTS clip shows us exactly
how that was done.
And, finally, we have "Finding Alagaesia", with director Stefen
Fangmeier explaining the locations used on the film. What he should be explaining
is how the hell a PG-13 book didn't translate correctly to film.
To help calm us down, Sienna Guillory explains away the impressive sets
while doing a very successful job at looking very, very attractive.
Though I am expecting quite a few moments of cheese-factor
during the film's running time, I do admit that it still looks like a fun
ride.
But PG, come on! Can somebody explain to me why we don't have any early
reviews for the film yet either?
