25- Season 5
Timed just in time to maximize interest in the upcoming season, 24: Season Five comes to DVD packed with extras on the making of the complicated, thrilling show. The one that will interest fans the most is a short produced exclusively for the DVD, touted as a Season Six prequel.
DVD Review: 24: Season 5
The short begins with the end of Season Five, with Jack Bauer taken into Chinese custody. Seven months later, he's got the beard we've all started to see in the teasers for Season Six, and getting tortured on a daily basis for information.
A big action sequence ensues culminating in an unexpected twist, 24 style. Ultimately, there's no big change and Season Six will still pick up where Five left off. It's only seven minutes long after the three minute recap, and it's kind of weird to see a Jack Bauer adventure without the counter or the boxes. But it's enough to tide us over until the two night premiere in January.
