Anne Hathaway has been picked up to star in the supernatural thriller, Passengers, by Mandate Pictures.
Rodrigo Garcia will direct with Columbia Pictures handling domestic distribution.
Passengers tells the story of a grief counselor (Hathaway) who helps six plane crash survivors and develops a special connection with one of them. When the survivors begin to disappear mysteriously, she suspects a conspiracy and becomes determined to uncover the truth.
Scribe Ronnie Christensen wrote the script.
Production on Passengers is set to begin early next year.
Hathaway can be seen clothed in The Princess Diaries, Brokeback Mountain or The Devil Wears Prada. Not so clothed? Havoc, obviously.
