"I have no idea [how I got it all out] honestly," she said. "It just happened to flow from me this morning."
Some were predicting Biel might get recognition for her roles in The Illusionist or Home of the Brave. She was happy to see other actresses shine. "I was surprised about Devil Wears Prada. Wasn't really surprised because that was a really, really great film and everyone was so good in it so I was really pleased that the women were recognized."
She also shares in the joy of double nominees Leonardo DiCaprio, Helen Mirren and Clint Eastwood. "That's fantastic. I mean, what a wonderful thing to have happen for Leonardo and for Helen and Clint as well. They're so worthy so it's fantastic."
Now Biel will have to catch up on all the nominated films. "I haven't seen Dreamgirls but I've been hearing so many great things about Jennifer, I'm really excited to see her performance. And what an amazing rise she's had. I feel excited about her. There are so many things I need to see. I need to do a little bit more research before I can make a decision."
Biel is excited about the ceremony on January 15 though. "I think it's a great awards show. It's prestigious, it's lovely to be a part of, it feels like a little bit less pressure than the Oscars. In my brain it feels that way. It seems just more relaxed and more fun but just as prestigious so I think it's a fantastic show. And I think it's really nice to be able to especially give some recognition to television, which is huge in our media and in our entertainment. So I think it's wonderful to recognize the shows."
