The Pursuit of Happyness
Will Smith’s holiday film, The Pursuit of Happyness was able to grab the top spot at the box office this weekend by taking in $27 million even though someone forgot to do a spell check on the title of the movie.
Box Office Report: The Pursuit of Happyness, Eragon and Charlotte's Web
The Sony Pictures produced film allowed the studio to gross over $1.57 billion for the year which is a record for any film company.
Eragon (Didn’t I see this movie already? Wasn’t it called Lord of the Rings. No, wait. It was called Dragonheart, right?) took the #2 spot by pulling in $23.5 million over the weekend.
Apparently no one’s reading to their kids anymore as Charlotte’s Web took in $12 million. That number is expected to grow after the holidays, well at least for those families that don’t buy the book for their kids at Christmas.
Apocalypto had a steep drop off in its second week of release. This is most likely due to your friend calling you saying, “Dude, the movie is in Mayan….yeah, the whole movie is.” It was still able to garnish the 6th spot for the weekend for a 10 day cume of $27.9 million.
If Happy Feet were P Diddy, he’d still be doing the Harlem Shake. The movie, in its 5th week of release, grossed another $8.5 million to bring its total to $149.4 million.
