Madman
Another comicbook has been thrown up on the adaptation chopping block and this time Troublemaker Studios will help produce.
Dimension to Adapt Comic Madman
Dimension Films i s planning to adapt the Michael Allred-created comicbook, Madman, into a live-action film with the help of Robert Rodriguez and Elizabeth Avellan; who will both produce under their Troublemaker banner.
George Huang will direct from a script he will co-write with Allred.
Madman is a post-modernist reimagining of the Frankenstein tale, with a superhero twist. Title character, killed in a car accident, is reanimated by an eccentric doc who names him Frank Einstein and instills in him enhanced senses, psychic power and exceptional physical skills. The doc can't fix his creature's face, so Madman wears a costume modeled after his fave superhero to hide his scars.
Like Rodriguez's Sin City, Madman will be shot entirely at Troublemaker Studios in Texas.
Rodriguez has been keeping busy with a sequel to Sin City and a collaboration with Quentin Tarantino on Grindhouse.
Rodriguez and Huang have known each other since the debut of El Mariachi.
