Will we see Luke again?
It looks like its taken up to three internet movie
sites to bring all the news to the net, but Themoviereporter.com was able
to catch Mark Hamill and get him to divulge what he knew about a Star
Wars television series.
Star Wars- The Television Series
First off, we should all know that even if Mark Hamill did know anything
about a Star Wars series in the works, he probably had to keep
his mouth shut. Lucas puts people on tight lip contracts; people are on
a need to know basis, and at this point they don't need to know. Now, I
am not saying that the Star Wars television series is more than
a rumor, but it does have some
[miniscule] supporting evidence.
First off, where the hell did all the buzz and the initial rumor come from?
If there wasn't anything there, I do not believe this rumor would of had
the internet reaction as it had. Second, during a discussion with Kevin
Smith [who will supposedly lead the Star Wars series], Smith claims
he had not heard anything about it, but then hums the Star Wars
theme as he walks away. [more below]

Luke may be good in the force, but how about handling Star Wars
television series questions?
And now we have an interview that asks Mark Hamill whether he will have
any involvement with a Star Wars television series. How does Hamill
respond? He first attempts to draw attention away from the question! I don't
know if this is a give away or not, but Hamill continuously tries to talk
about something else other than the rumor. However, at the end of the interview
Hamill feels he needs to give some closure the questions and mentions that
he may be 'up for the idea'... if he has time.
Here are a few snippets from the interview thanks to MovieHole:
"Never Say Never", Hamill cheekily tells the site, stressing that "He hasn't heard anything officially about it", though.
Hamill says a "Star Wars" TV series is a good idea because it would mean it'd probably concentrate more on story than special effects. He said it could be "like Tales of the Jedi Knight - which they do so well in the comics".
The site asked Hamill whether it might follow the rumoured storyline of Skywalker, now older, taking on the Kenobi-esque role of a mentor, and training a young chap. "That was when he [George Lucas] was planning on doing another trilogy after this one [the prequels]. Back in the day he asked me if I'd do that and pass the saber onto the new young hope".
Now, I don't want to read too much into this interview but-- When Hamill
was asked whether he would join the Star Wars television series,
he answered that he will be in production for an adaptation of Black
Pearl. When asked who was financing the film, Hamill locks up and then
answers that he cannot announce the investors... but then says it is partially
invested by the editor of Black Pearl. Was Hamill trying to throw
out mis-information to draw people away from the Star Wars rumor?
Is Hamill already on Star Wars? Ahh, who knows; but it is nice
to think so.
