'Come on.. where's he at.. just one more round.'
I don't believe it. The Rocky series should
have ended with Rocky IV, the bout with the Russian boxer Ivan
Drago [Dolph Lundgren]. But nooooo, we have to keep making Rocky films that
only hurt the series as a whole. I always imagined Rocky V to be
the last one, but it seems Sony is ready to sign us up for a Rocky VI.
Sony Wants Rocky VI
Sylvester Stallone started pitching the idea of Rocky VI some time
back to MGM. The story will show that Rocky has given up boxing [like Rocky
V] and is now struggling to get into the restaurant business. Besides
financial stress, Adrian has passed away and Rocky has a deteriorating relationship
with his now grown up son [again... like Rocky V]. What can set
the old champ straight? To get back in the ring of course! Rocky goes back
to boxing to fight the heavyweight champion of the world-- Mason Dixon.
Even though MGM did not want the film, the latest union between Sony
and MGM seems to have been a blessing for Stallone. MGM may not want another
Rocky, but Sony does.
