Night Watch is coming to the states.
There is a movie that took Russia by storm called
Night Watch. Supposedly, this film was able to out gross Lord of the Rings
over in Russia! What kind of film is this? Well, it seems we will be able
to find out what we have been missing by this Summer! Fox Searchlight pictures
has just bought the rights to release Night
Watch to the states.
Night Watch
The movie Night Watch [Nochnoi dozor] has to be the hottest
thing to come out of Russia besides the 'Ice Festival' and blonde hair girls
wearing fur bikinis. Here is a brief jist on what to expect from Night Watch:
Set in contemporary Moscow, Night Watch [Nochnoi Dozor]
revolves around the conflict and balance maintained between the forces of
light and darkness -- the result of a medieval truce-between the opposing
sides. As night falls, the dark forces battle the super-human "Others"
of the Night Watch, whose mission is to patrol and protect. But there is
constant fear that an ancient prophecy will come true: that a powerful "Other"
will rise up, be tempted by one of tthe sides, and tip the balance plunging
the worlds into a revnewed war between the dark and light, the results of
which would be catastrophic.
