Juaquin Phoenix is Johnny Cash
Johnny Cash was a country boy from Arkansas who,
along with Elvis Presley and Carl Perkins, revolutionized rock and roll
through the famous Sun Record Studio of Memphis Tennessee. Now, with great
thanks to Joaquin Phoenix (Starring as Cash) and James Mangold (writer and
director), we are not only being left with Cash's legacy through his music,
but also with Walk
The Line, Mangold's biopic chronolizing Cash's life and
legacy.
A Johnny Cash Biopic
Walk The Line will focus on Cash's early years where he grows from
cotton picker to the Air Force, then to country singer and then to rock
and roll icon who built a legacy of music as a rebel who tells it like it
is and takes no shit for it.
Walk the Line also treats us with June Carter (Reese Witherspoon),
who was the women who rocked his world and never settled for less than the
love of his life.
Walk the Line is currently still in production, thus the November
18, 2005 release date is subject to change, but we can at least anticipate
a 2005 release nonetheless.
20th Century Fox is the studio behind this production; this is what the have to say:
The early years in the life and career of music legend Johnny Cash, whose
work transcended musical boundaries to reach out to everyone. A testament
to making art and music and being young, the film explores the world he
came from and his experiences beginning a career during the birth of rock
and roll. It also is a love story detailing Cash?s burgeoning relationship
with June Carter...
