Peter Berg on Splinter Cell
Peter Berg was recently pulled aside by MovieHole
and splurged some information on his new and previous projects. If you have
never heard of Peter Berg [actor turned director], he is the man behind
the dark comedy Very Bad Things, The Rundown, and Friday
Night Lights. More importantly, Peter Bergs upcoming project is the
Splinter Cell
game adaptation.
Peter Berg on Splinter Cell
While Peter Berg discussed being a director with MovieHole,
Splinter Cell was bound to become the top subject.
Splinter Cell is based off of the popular spy-thriller console
game [based on novel from Clancy]. Here is what Berg had to say on Splinter
Cell:
It’s [Splinter Cell] going excellent... J.T
is doing the weight of the writing on it, but I’m going to take all the
credit...
I’m a big fan of that kind of story. I love secret-agent books – I love
“Bourne” (Identity) – with missions, and kidnappings, executions and assassinations.
I read books like, all the Ludlum books, I like the Alistair MacLaine books
like Guns of Navarone…I just like that kind of stuff
When asked about who will play the lead agent in Splinter Cell,
names such as Thomas Jane, Eric Bana and Kurt Russell were mentioned. If
you remember Eric Bana's role as special forces in Black Hawk Down,
he would perfectly fit into the cunning spy agent role.
