The original Wonder Woman
A lot of people were disappointed when Joss Whedon
didn't get picked up for X-Men
3. Well, it seems that Whedon has received a huge constellation
prize from Warner Bros., who have offered Whedon Wonder Woman.
Whedon to Direct Wonder Woman
The creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer
has recently signed on to write and direct an upcoming Wonder Woman
movie. Whedon is already joined by the talented producers, Joel Silver and
Leonard Goldberg, to help create the DC comic adaptation.
Whedon, in a statement, had this to say about Wonder Woman:
Wonder Woman is the most iconic female heroine of our time, but in a way, no one has met her yet. What I love most about icons is finding out what's behind them, exploring the price of their power. When Joel and I began discussing the character, I realized there is a woman behind the legend who is very fascinating, very uncompromising and in her own way almost vulnerable. She's someone who doesn't belong in this world, and since everyone I know feels that way about themselves, the character clicked for me.
So, what is the next step? Well, just like
Superman,
it seems that finding the actress to play Wonder Woman will be
the first huge step.
