In the latest print of Empire, they offer a nice
review of some of the characters from Kingdom
of Heaven. I liked the idea so much, that I have decided
to modify it and throw it up for everybody to see.
Kingdom of Heaven Characters
Here is a brief summary on each of the major characters
from Kingdom of Heaven:
A blacksmith that became a noble knight. All that was simple becomes
complicated by war and love. |
Massoud is one of Syria's most famous actors; something of a Damascus
De Niro. His Saladin is provoked into reclaiming Jerusalem and the
Holy Land for the Moslems... |
Tiberias is an advisor to the crippled King Baldwin, and commander
of the army of Jerusalem. A Man of conscience, Tiberias preaches
co-existence with the Saracens. |
Freshout of Bertolucci's The Dreamers, Green plays the beautiful
young wife of the leper king, Baldwin. Once Bloom's Balian arrives
in Jerusalem, she finds herself falling in love... |
Godfrey is Balian's long-lost father, and a Knight Hospitaller who
won himself an estate - Ibelin - in the Holy Land. He bequeaths
this land to his son. |
Reynald is the commander of the Knights Templar. While others sue
for peace, his belligerent faction within the Crusader army provokes
Saladin into war. |
Thewlis' Hospitaller is on of Godfrey's faithful companions and
once Balian decides to set off for Jerusalem he accompanies him,
as he did his father. |
