Will it be as good as Pluto Nash?
It seems that Eddie Murphy is willing to take a
break from 'kiddie' films and rejoin the adults. Sure, Eddie Murphy hasn't
made a good film in God knows how long, but maybe it is time for a change
[or maybe he should stick with kiddie films]. Eddie Murphy's next role--
how about a rapper turned private eye.
Murphy is Johnny Blaze
When I first heard this news of Johnny Blaze,
I assumed that Eddie Murphy some how replaced Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze
in Ghost Rider. Well I can assume that 'Blaze' has something to do with
smoking marijuana, the writers may want to change this title quickly to
avoid any confusion. Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg [Harold and Kumar
go to White Castle] are writing a script for an action-comedy about Johnny
Blaze; an old-school rapper who becomes a private eye.
Eddie Murphy came up with the concept of the film
and immediately found a few avenues to pitch it through. As long as Eddie
can get his brother, Charlie Murphy, a role, this film could be promising.
For those of you who are bummed about Eddie sliding away from 'kiddie' films,
don't worry; you will hear Eddie again in Shrek 3.
Stay tuned for updates.
