Jackman as Wolverine in X-Men 2
Hugh Jackman will soon be busy when the next X-Men
begins to go into production as he attempts to produce and star in the indie
film Good.
Hugh Jackman on X-Men
I will cover X-Men first, as a lot of
news has broke the last week about the film. First, there are three new
mutant characters for X-Men 3. They include Angle, Beast, and Gambit;
for the full report CLICK HERE.
When it comes to the original characters, Hugh Jackman is the only one that
has confirmed that he will be staying on for the next film [of the characters
whose contracts are up]. Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart and obviously Halle
Berry are currently in negotiations for the next X-Men. I could do without
Storm [Halle Berry], but without Patrick Stewart or Ian McKellan, a huge
chunk of much needed character will go missing.
The other characters of X-Men should all be back, including Night
Crawler, as their contracts already require it; so, no problems there. The
most interesting story is James Marsden, the actor who played Cyclops. According
to early reports, the character of Cyclops is nowhere mentioned
[so far] for the upcoming X-Men movie. It is believed that Cyclops
will be written out of the script as a way to get back at Marsden, who left
with Bryan Singer to have a greater role in the upcoming movie Superman
Returns.
Stay tuned for updates on that. [more below]
Hugh Jackman is Good
Hugh Jackman has confirmed that not only will he
produce, but also star in the indie drama Good. The story of Good
takes place during the 1930's when the Nazi party rises to power. Jackman
will play as a German teacher who gets caught up in the hysteria of national
pride. The film will also star Jason Isaacs [Harry Potter], as
a Jewish friend to Jackman, and Romola Garai, who will play as Jackman's
love interest.
Jackman plans to begin production on Good this Summer in Berlin.
