If you have read any of my previous articles regarding
international trailers, then you already know what I'm going to say. Something
like how I have always believed that international trailers are always better
than the 'US' movie trailers. How they always show more, and give the audience
a slightly better taste of the film.
Well, the same holds true for the international trailer for The
Island.
International The Island Trailer
When the first teaser trailer for Michael Bay's
The Island was released, I watched it with some friends and family;
all of whom had no prior knowledge of the film. After viewing the trailer,
each person was still pretty in-the-dark about what The Island
is really about. This came as no surprise to me, as the only reason I understood
the trailer is that I have read and posted all the news, premises, and the
overall synopsis to the film.
The international trailer for The Island, on the other hand, has
one major difference [actually, there are a bunch]. In the original trialer,
Steve Buscemi tells the characters [McGregor and Johansson] that their lives
never really happened. In the new international trailer, Buscemi states
'you are not real... you are copies of people out here in the real world.'
Ahh, so much more info about the film in one simple sentence during the
trailer. Is The Island have to do with something about cloning
maybe?
Other than this, the trailer shows a bunch of new scenes,
one that includes two Ewan McGregor's.
